3. Family Talk 1) What did Jesus mean when He said prophet Isaiah’s words had come true?

“"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. And he began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:18-21‬ ‭ESV‬

Jesus said this Scripture (Isaiah‘s prophecy) had been fulfilled in their hearing. Isaiah’s prophecy that Jesus quoted is from Isaiah 61:1-2 about the coming Messiah. By saying the prophecy about Messiah was fulfilled, jesus declared that He is the Messiah that was promised to come.

“주의 성령이 내게 임하셨으니 이는 가난한 자에게 복음을 전하게 하시려고 내게 기름을 부으시고 나를 보내사 포로 된 자에게 자유를, 눈먼 자에게 다시 보게 함을 전파하며 눌린 자를 자유케 하고 주의 은혜의 해를 전파하게 하려 하심이라 하였더라 책을 덮어 그 맡은 자에게 주시고 앉으시니 회당에 있는 자들이 다 주목하여 보더라 이에 예수께서 저희에게 말씀하시되 이 글이 오늘날 너희 귀에 응하였느니라 하시니” ‭‭누가복음‬ ‭4:18-21‬ ‭KRV‬‬

예수님은 오실 메시야에 대해 예언한 선지자 이사야의 글 (이사야 61:1-2에 기록된) 을 읽으시고 “이 글이 오늘날 너희 귀에 응하였느니라”라고 말씀하셨습니다. 예수님은 자신이 바로 하나님이 오리라고 약속하신 메시야임을 선포하셨습니다. 누가복음은 책 전체를 통해 “예수님이구누구이신가”에 대한 질문에 답을 합니다. 사람들의 고백을 통해, 베드로의 대답을 통해, 때로는 귀신을 통해서도 (귀신들린 자들을 고치실 때) 예수님이 누구이신지를 계속 말해줍니다. 이 본문에서는 예수님이 친히 선지자 이사야를 통해 예언하신 말씀을 읽으시고 바로 자신이 메시야임을 밝히 말씀하시는 본문임을 이야기 해주세요.

2) Why did people of Nazareth reject Jesus? What happens if we reject Jesus?

왜 나사렛 사람들은 예수님을 거절했나요? 우리가 예수님을 거절할 때 어떤 일이 일어나나요?

The people of Nazareth was amazed by Jesus’ teaching, but they questioned about Jesus because they knew Jesus grew up in their town and they knew who Jesus’ father was. They ended up rejecting Jesus.

No one deserves grace of God. It is gift of God that is given to those who don’t deserve it. it is gift of salvation that is given through Jesus life, death, and resurrection. We can not earn it, because it is gift that is given as gift, not because what we have done but by what Jesus has done. When we reject this free gift, It’s consequence is death.

나사렛 사람들은 예수님의 가르치심에 놀랐지만, 예수님에게 “이는 요셉의 아들이 아니냐”며 예수님이 메시야이심을 인정하지 않고 거부하게됩니다. 하나님의 은혜를 받을 자격이 있는 자는 아무도 없다는 것을 이야기 해 주세요. 하나님의 은혜는 받을 자격이 없는 자들에게 주어지는 하나님의 선물임을, 예수님의 삶과 죽음과 부활을 통해 주어진 구원의 선물임을, 우리가 한 일이 아닌 예수님이 행하신 일로 주어진 선물임을 말해주세요. 우리가 우리에게 값없이 주어진 이 선물을 거부할 때, 그 결과는 사망임을 말해주세요.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord 's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;”

“주 여호와의 신이 내게 임하셨으니 이는 여호와께서 내게 기름을 부으사 가난한 자에게 아름다운 소식을 전하게 하려 하심이라 나를 보내사 마음이 상한 자를 고치며 포로된 자에게 자유를, 갇힌 자에게 놓임을 전파하며 여호와의 은혜의 해와 우리 하나님의 신원의 날을 전파하여 모든 슬픈 자를 위로하되” ‭‭
