1. What does it mean to follow Jesus? 예수님을 따른다는 것은 무슨 의미인가요?

: Folllowing Jesus doesn’t merely mean to be a faithful church attender or to confess himself as a Christian. When Jesus called His disciples to follow Him, that means Jesus called them to follow Him leaving everything behind. Following Jesus is to give up everything because it is worth everything in this world.

예수님을 따른다는 것은 단순히 교회에 잘 나오고 스스로를 크리스천이라고 고백하는 것을 의미하지 않습니다. 예수님이 제자들에게 “나를 따르라”고 말씀하셨을 때, 그 부르심은 그들이 가진 모든 것을 뒤로하고 예수님을 따르라는 것이었고 그들은 즉시로 모든 것을 버려두고 예수님을 따랐습니다. 예수님이 이 세상에서 그들이 가질 수 있는 그 어떤것보다 가치있다는 것을 알았기 때문입니다.

2. How can we be sure following Jesus is worth everything we have?

예수님을 따라가는 것이 우리의 모든 것을 드릴만큼 가치있는 일임을 우리는 어떻게 알 수 있을까요?

If we are going to follow Jesus giving up everything we have, we have to know the worth of following Him. Knowing who God is and what He has done for us is the key to follow Him. If we really understand the worth of the truth of God, we will want to follow Him like the person who sold everything he had to buy a field when he found a great treasure in that field. However, following Jesus is not easy, because it comes at a price. We need the help of the Holy Spirit to follow Jesus faithfully with all we are.

우리가 가진 모든 것을 포기하고 예수님을 따라갈 때, 우리는 예수님을 따르는 것의 가치를 알아야 할 것입니다. 하나님이 누구이시고 그가 우리를 위해 행하신 일들을 이해할 때, 우리는 하나님을 따르는 것의 가치를 알게 될 것입니다. 예수님이 말씀하신 밭에 감추인 보화를 발견하고 기뻐하며 돌아가 자신이 가진 모든 것을 팔아 그 밭을 샀던사람의 비유와 같이, 우리가 진정한 복음과 그 가치를 이해하게 될 때, 우리는 억지로가 아닌 기쁨으로 우리가 가진모든 것을 드려 예수님을 따라가게 될 것입니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그것은 쉬운 일이 아닙니다. 성령님의 도우심이 없이는 그 길을 갈수 없는것을 다시한번 아이에게 알려주세요.

3. Talk about what might we have to give up to follow Jesus?

우리가 예수님을 따라가기 위해서 무엇을 포기해야 할지 아이가 소중히 여기는 것들에 대해 이야기를 나누어보고, 이것들을 포기하면서도 예수님을 따라갈 가치가 있는지에 대해 대화를 나누어보세요.
