Family Talk 1. How are we like sheep? 우리는 어떤점이 양과 비슷한가요?

이사야 53:6

6. 우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다

“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

우리는 다 양과 같아서 연약하고 갈 바를 알지 못하여 죄 가운데 사망의 길로 걸어갈 수 밖에 없던 사람들이었습니다. 하지만 예수님이 선한 목자가 되셔서 우리를 위하여 목숨을 버리심으로 우리는 생명을 얻고 목자를 따라갈 수있게 되었습니다.

We all are like sheep and have gone astray like sheep. Being fallen in sin, we didn’t know where to go and walked on the path that leads to destruction. However, Jesus became our good Shepherd and laid down His life for us so that we could receive life and follow our Shepherd.

2. What is the good shepherd?

How did Jesus show He is the Good Shepherd?

요한복음 10:11 - 15

11. 나는 선한 목자라 선한 목자는 양들을 위하여 목숨을 버리거니와

12. 삯꾼은 목자가 아니요 양도 제 양이 아니라 이리가 오는 것을 보면 양을 버리고 달아나나니 이리가 양을 물어가고 또 헤치느니라

13. 달아나는 것은 그가 삯꾼인 까닭에 양을 돌보지 아니함이나

14. 나는 선한 목자라 나는 내 양을 알고 양도 나를 아는 것이

15. 아버지께서 나를 아시고 내가 아버지를 아는 것 같으니 나는 양을 위하여 목숨을 버리노라

예수님 당시 이스라엘과 그 주변 대부분의 국가들은 목축업이 주를 이루었기때문에 쉽게 양떼와 그 양떼를 치는 목자들을 볼 수 있었습니다. 그 중 신실하고 선한 목자들은 양들을 온 힘 다해 돌보며 양들을 보호하기 위해 양 우리의 입구에 누워 잠을 자곤 했습니다. 다윗의 시편 23편을 보면 다윗이 목자로서 하나님이 얼마나 선한 목자이신가를 고백하는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 선한 목자는 자기 양들의 이름을 다 알고 양들을 끝까지 돌보며 위험이 올 때 목숨을 버리기까지 양을 지켜 보호합니다. 삯꾼도 겉으로보기에는 목자와 같이 양을 치지만 위험이 왔을 때 양을 버리고 도망가버리고 맙니다. 예수님은 양들을 위하여 죽기까지 사랑하심으로 선한 목자의 본이 되어주셨습니다.

In the time of Jesus, most of the country around Israel have sheep and we could easily find shepherds. Some good and faithful shepherds took care of their sheep well and even sleep at the gate of sheep sheepfold to protect their sheep. When we read David’s Psalm (Psalm 23), we can see David, as a shepherd, confess that The Lord is the Good Shepherd. The good Shepherd knows His sheep by name and lays down His life when danger comes. Jesus showed how the good shepherd should be

Iike by loving His sheep until he died.

““I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.”
