1. Who is the Holy Spirit?
성령님은 누구이신가요?
Holy Spirit is the third person of Trinity. Jesus told His disciples that God would send the Holy Spirit to them after Jesus went up to heaven. Jesus commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but wait for the Holy spirit that God had promised to send. The disciples were waiting and praying together in Jerusalem and the Holy Spirit came to each one of them.
성령님은 삼위일체 하나님의 한 ‘위’이신 하나님 이십니다. 예수님은 제자들에게 예수님이 승천하신 후에 하나님이 그들에게 성령님을 보내주실 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 예수님은 승천하시기 전, 예루살렘을 떠나지 말고 하나님 아버지께서 약속하신 성령을 기다리라고 하셨고 예수님의 명령을 따라 예루살렘에 남아 함께 기도하며 기다리던 제자들에게 성령님이 임하십니다.
2. How did the Holy Spirit transformed Jesus’ disciples?
성령님이 어떻게 제자들을 변화시키셨나요?
Jesus said “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). The resurrected Jesus commanded them to make disciples of all nations, but they were not able to do it with their own strength. All disciples once failed to follow Jesus and ran away when Jesus was captured because of fear. But when they received the Holy Spirit, they were able to be true disciples of Jesus who follows Him and who witnesses Him to the end of the earth.
예수님은 제자들에게 “오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅 끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라” (행 1:8)고 말씀하셨습니다. 부활하신 예수님은 제자들에게 모든 민족을 제자로 삼으라고 명하셨지만 제자들에게는 그럴 능력과 힘이 없었습니다. 모든 제자들은 한 때 예수님을 따르는 것을 실패하고 예수님이 붙잡히셨을 때 두려워 도망갔었습니다. 하지만 그들에게 성령이 임하였을 때 그들은 진정한 예수님의 제자로서의 삶을 살며 땅 끝까지 예수님을 증거하는 이들이 될 수 있었습니다. 아이와 함께 제자들의 이전의 모습과 성령님이 임하신 후의 모습을 비교해보고 성령님이 주신 권능으로 순교자의 삶을 담대히 살아내었던 제자들의 변화된 삶에 대해 이야기 해보세요.
3. How can we receive the Holy Spirit?
우리는 어떻게 성령님을 받을 수 있을까요?
Peter, after he received the Holy Spirit, preached the gospel before many people. Peter proclaimed that “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. Whoever received Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior and turn back from their sins and follow God will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit will always be with them to the end. If your child not yet received Jesus as their Lord and savior, pray with your child that they can believe in Jesus, repent, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
성령으로 충만해진 베드로는 수많은 사람 앞에서 담대히 복음을 선포합니다. 그는 “너희가 회개하여 각각 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 세례를 받고 죄 사함을 받으라 그리하면 성령의 선물을 받으리니” 라고 말합니다. 누구든지 예수를 주로 믿고 죄로부터 돌아서서 예수님을 따를 때 성령의 선물을 받습니다. 그리고 성령님은 결코 그를 떠나지 않으며 끝날까지 함께 하십니다. 만약 우리 아이가 아직 예수님을 주로 영접하지 않았다면, 아이들이 회개하며 예수님을 믿고 따름으로 성령의 선물을 받도록 함께 기도해주세요.
