After Jesus had done the miracle of feeding 5,000 men with 5 loaves and 2 fishes, people tried to find Jesus and follow Him wherever He went. Jesus said they were looking for Jesus, because they ate the loaves and were full. They didn’t want Jesus Himself, but the food that Jesus can give to make them full. However, what Jesus wanted to give them was not the loaves that make them full temporarily, but the bread of life that can make them never be hungry nor thirsty. Jesus told them He is the bread that came down from the heaven. Jesus said that unless they eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, they have no life in them. When Jesus talked about His flesh and blood, He was talking about His death for the sin of the world. Many people were not able to understand Jesus’ teaching and left Jesus. Talk through the questions below and talk about ourselves; are we the disciples of Jesus who are following Jesus, desiring Jesus alone or the people who are following Jesus, just wanting to get what Jesus can give them.
예수님이 오병이어의 기적을 일으키신 직후에 무리는 예수님을 찾아 따라옵니다. 예수님은 그들이 예수님을 찾는 것은 떡을 먹고 배부르기 때문이라고 말씀하십니다. 그들은 예수님이 아닌 예수님이 주실 수 있는 그들의 배를 부르게 해 줄 떡을 원했습니다. 하지만 예수님이 주시고자 하셨던 것은 그들의 배를 일시적으로 부르게 할 떡이 아닌, 그들을 영원히 주리지도 목마르지도 않게 할 생명의 떡, 바로 예수님 자신이셨습니다. 예수님은 그들에게 예수님이 바로 하늘에서 내려온 떡이고 예수님의 살을 먹고 예수님의 피를 마시는 자는 영생을 가졌고 마지막 날에 다시 살리시겠다고 말씀하십니다. 그것은 예수님이 우리의 죄를 위하여 찢기실 몸과 흘리실 피를 의미하신 것이었습니다. 많은 이들이 예수님의 가르침을 이해하지 못하고 예수님을 떠났습니다. 밑의 질문들에 대해 대화를 나누어보고 우리는 예수님 한분만을 바라며 예수님을 따라가는 제자들인지 아니면 예수님이 우리에게 주실 수 있는 것들 (물질, 명예, 성공 등) 을 바라보며 예수님을 따라가는 무리인지 질문해보고 대화를 나누어보세요.
