1. Why did Jesus delay His coming even though He knew Lazarus would die?
예수님은 나사로가 죽을 것을 알고도 왜 나사로에게 가기를 지체하셨나요?
2. Why can we always trust Jesus no matter what happens?
우리에게 어떤 일이 일어나던지 우리가 예수님을 신뢰할 수 있는 이유는 무엇인가요?
Jesus delayed His coming purposely to show the glory of God. He knew exactly that Lazarus would die, yet He stayed at where He was for two more days. That was not because Jesus didn’t love Him. Bible says Jesus loved Mary, Martha, and Lazarus and Jesus wept when He saw their sorrow. Jesus purposely allowed the time of sorrow to those whom He loved for God’s glory. Jesus came to them after Lazarus died and showed His glory by raising Lazarus from the dead. Many people who were there believed that Jesus is the Son of God and God was glorified.
Sometimes, we feel like God is not answering our prayers when we were in desperate needs. Sometimes, God delays His answer and let us go through the hardships. But He always has His plan and purpose for that delay so that God is glorified and our faith grows through that hardships. There is no error in His timing and plan and He works perfectly for His good for those who loves Him. We can always put our trust in Him.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

예수님은 하나님의 영광을 보이시기 위하여 나사로에게 가기를 지체하셨습니다. 예수님은 나사로가 곧 죽게 될 것을 알고 계셨지만 계시던 곳에서 이틀을 더 머무르십니다. 이것은 예수님이 나사로를 사랑하시지 않았기 때문이 아닙니다. 성경은 분명하게 예수님이 나사로와 그의 자매들 마리아와 마르다를 사랑하셨고 그들이 슬퍼할 때 함께 우셨다고 말합니다. 예수님은 목적을 가지고 그 슬픔의 시간을 사랑하시는 자들에게 허락하신 것입니다. 예수님은 나사로가 죽고 장사된 후에 오셔서 죽은 나사로를 죽은 자 가운데서 일으키심으로 예수님이 하나님의 아들이심을 보이시고 하나님께 영광을 돌립니다. 죽었다가 살아난 나사로는 하나님의 영광을 드러내는 영광스러운 일에 함께 참여하게 됩니다. 그곳에 있던 많은 이들도 예수님이 하나님의 아들이심을 믿게 됩니다.
때때로 우리는 하나님이 우리에게 절실한 기도의 응답이 필요할 때에 우리에게 응답하시지 않는다고 느낄 때가 있습니다. 때로 하나님은 기도의 응답을 지체하시고 우리가 그 어려움을 통과해내도록 허락하실 때가 있습니다. 하지만 하나님은 항상 그의 완전한 계획과 목적을 가지고 일하시는 분이십니다. 하나님은 때때로 우리의 기도를 응답하시기를 지체하심으로써 우리가 그 어려움을 겪어냄을 통하여 하나님이 영광 받으시고 우리의 믿음이 자라나기를바라십니다. 하나님의 계획과 타이밍에는 실수가 없습니다. 하나님은 하나님을 사랑하는 자들을 위해 완전한 타이밍과 계획으로 일하셔서 선을 이루게 하십니다.
“우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라”

3. What hope do we have, even in death? 왜 우리는 우리의 죽음에도 소망이 있나요?
We have hope in Jesus who is the life and the resurrection. Jesus told Martha that “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this”?
John 11:25-26 NIV
We might die one day, but we believe that Jesus is the resurrection and the life and He will raise all of us who believe in God and give eternal life. We who believe in Jesus who died and rose again, always have eternal hope in Him.
우리는 부활이요 생명이신 예수님 안에 소망이 있습니다. 예수님은 마르다에게 말씀하셨습니다. “예수께서 가라사대 나는 부활이요 생명이니 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살겠고 무릇 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 영원히 죽지 아니하리니 이것을 네가 믿느냐”

사람은 언젠가 죽게됩니다. 하지만 우리는 예수님이 부활이시며 생명이시고 그를 믿는 우리를 죽음에서 일으키시고 영원히 살게 하실 것을 믿습니다. 우리를 위하여 죽었다가 다시 사신 예수님을 믿는 우리에게는 예수님 안에 죽음에도 소망이 있습니다.
