1. Why and how was Jesus arrested?
예수님은 왜 그리고 어떻게 붙잡히셨나요?
Jesus went to Gethsemane with His disciples and prayed. Bible says Jesus was overwhelmed with sorrow and prayed to God. But, all His disciples fell asleep and Jesus prayed alone. Jesus prayed that not His will but Father’s will be done. After He prayed, Judas, high priest, and a crowd of people came and captured Jesus and brought him to the high priest.
예수님은 제자들과 함께 겟세마네로 가서 기도하십니다. 성경은 예수님이 매우 고민하고 슬퍼하사 제자들에게 함께 깨어기도하라고 하셨다고 말합니다. 하지만 제자들은 모두 잠이 들어버리고 예수님은 얼굴을 땅에 대시고 엎드려 홀로 기도하십니다. 예수님이 자신의 뜻이 아닌 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지기를 기도를 마치신 후에 유다와 대제사장들과 함께 큰 무리가 칼과 몽치를 가지고 와서 예수님을 잡아 대제사장의 집으로 데려갑니다.
2. Why didn’t Jesus fight back against His enemies?
예수님은 왜 예수님을 잡으려고 온 사람들과 싸우지 않으셨나요?
“He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.”
Isaiah 53:7 NIV
Jesus provoked Peter who tried to fight against the crowd with sword and healed a man whose ear was cut off by Peter. As prophet Isaiah said, Jesus silently followed those who tried to kill him like a lamb led to the slaughter. Jesus has power to wipe out His enemies right away, but He silently surrendered to the Father’s will.

7. 그가 곤욕을 당하여 괴로울 때에도 그의 입을 열지 아니하였음이여 마치 도수장으로 끌려 가는 어린 양과 털 깎는 자앞에서 잠잠한 양 같이 그의 입을 열지 아니하였도다
예수님은 자신을 잡으러 온 사람들과 맞서 칼로 싸우려고 했던 베드로를 말리시고 베드로가 베어버린 대제사장의 종의귀를 치유하십니다. 이사야의 말처럼 예수님은 도수장으로 끌려 가는 어린 양이 잠잠함 같이 잠잠히 끌려가심으로 하나님의 뜻을 따르셨습니다. 예수님은 그들을 단번에 물리치실 수 있는 하나님이셨지만, 하나님의 뜻을 이루기 위해서 잠잠히 순종하셨습니다.

우리가 거기에 있었다면 우리는 어떻게 했었을지 한번 대화해보세요. 제자들은 예수님이 붙잡히시자 모두 예수님을 버리고 떠났고 베드로는 예수님을 부인하였습니다. 우리가 그 자리에 있었다면 우리는 어떻게 반응하였을지 정직하게 나누어보세요.
